A short history of work
Petros Vouris’ work is inspired by the phenomenology of sound as an instrument of philosophy and science. Born in Athens, Greece and raised in Western Australia, Vouris studied Visual Art Theory, Sculpture, and Musical Composition & Technology (WAAPA).
He has exhibited/performed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, International Computer Music Conference, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Australasian Computer Music Conference, Fringe World Festival, Totally Huge New Music Festival, and National Experimental Arts Festival.
Artists that Petros has worked or performed with: Stelarc (AUS), KK Null (Zena Geva), Ikue Mori from DNA (NY), Scanner (UK), Kaffe Mathews (UK), Chrissie Parrott Dance Company (AUS), and Lindsay Vickery (AUS). Awards: TERAS, 2012 Decibel Composers Award, and in 2014 his composition ‘Pallas Athena Polias’ was performed at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), held for the first time in Athens, Greece.
